Re: existing object shows as unconfigured object in wizard
Indeed.
[root@Nagios001-24C var]# cat /usr/local/nagios/etc/nagios.cfg | grep -i debug
debug_file=/usr/local/nagios/var/nagios.debug
debug_level=-1
debug_verbosity=1
max_debug_file_size=1000000
I believe these checks are coming in via NRDP.
I'll send you the raw logs via PM in a few minutes.
Thanks,
-Jason

Thanks Box293.
You should have two Nagios debug logs in your inbox now.
Thanks,
-Jason

Re: existing object shows as unconfigured object in wizard
Nothing is standing out there.
Can we try increasing the verbosity of the debugging:
In nagios.cfg
debug_verbosity=2
Also, increase the size:
max_debug_file_size=10000000
I just added an extra 0 to the end.
Stop the service, delete the old debug logs and start the service.

Re: existing object shows as unconfigured object in wizard
nagios.cfg debug lines edited as recommended, the nagios.debug files removed, created new corelog.newobjects, and restarted Nagios.
I'll update you with the debug log files soon.
** EDIT **
Logs sent.
Thanks for the help,

Re: existing object shows as unconfigured object in wizard
Can you PM me the logs so that I can put it in a location that our other support techs can access if they are helping troubleshoot?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Are you changing the names of the services? That might cause them to be unrecognized when they come in.

Re: existing object shows as unconfigured object in wizard
Clearly they are not appearing in the debug log.
Lets try this.
Edit /usr/local/nagios/etc/nagios.cfg
Set the following to:
log_passive_checks=1
Save the file and restart nagios.
Now wait for the problem to occur.
Then send us the entire file /usr/local/nagios/var/nagios.log
Please PM it to me and ssax

Re: existing object shows as unconfigured object in wizard
tar cvzf nagios.log.tar nagios.log
passive check logging was already enabled.
The original nagios.log is 69M, compressed to 3.4M.
This forum limits uploads to 2M ....
I'll try this:
1. stop nagios
2 .clear the debug logs
3. clear the nagios.log
4. clear coreobjects.newobjects
5. start nagios
6. wait for new objects to appear
7. tarball the log files and PM them over to SSAX and yourself.
Hopefully you'll see something interesting.

I think it's time to move this into a remote session, can you please email into [email protected] so that we can get this entered in as a ticket?
Thanks!
