Nagios on Ubuntu
Nagios on Ubuntu
Does the Nagios XI can be installed in Ubuntu as a Nagios Server?
Re: Nagios on Ubuntu
No, the actual Nagios XI server cannot be installed on Ubuntu, Nagios XI can monitor Ubuntu machines but it is not supported to run Nagios XI on one.

Re: Nagios on Ubuntu
Why there is a documentation, which states Nagios User Guide, covers installation process of Nagios on Ubuntu Operating System.

Re: Nagios on Ubuntu
That is true. And that documentation is for Nagios Core. I figured since you were posting in the Nagios XI forums, you were asking about that. But yes, you are right, Nagios Core can be installed on Ubuntu, but Nagios XI cannot.

Re: Nagios on Ubuntu
The posted guide explains how to install the Nagios Core on Ubuntu. It is not about Nagios XI.
nscott is right - Ubuntu is not a supported distribution.
The only supported distributions (at this time) are: 32 and 64-bit CentOS 5 (recommended) and RHEL 5.

Re: Nagios on Ubuntu
I see. Thank you, I thought that it was for Nagios XI enterprise. Because there is no statement that states it is for Nagios core only.
