AD Authentication

Post by Fred Kroeger »

Found a problem with AD authentication on NNA 2R1.0
I was given a list of 3 Domain Controllers to use in the AD Server setup. Unfortunately there was a typo in one of the hostnames.

When I tried to login with AD credentials I got a message "Failed to connect to AD Server" and wouldn't allow login.

I disovered the error and removed that hostname - I could then login using my AD credentials.

I'm concerned now that if one of the Domain Controllers goes offline , that I will have the same problem with not being able to login.
I'm not in a position where I can shutdown a domain controller , so was wondering if someone could test this scenario ?

regards... Fred

If you keep an administrator type login as a local user, you can still have login into the box if your DC's go down. We'll check if having typo (or hostname not in local dns) and update this thread.
