I have a problem with some servers
After I install the nrds agent on the server, I see it in the uncofigured objects.
After I add the server in nagious, I get a no output returned from plugin
Now, checked the log on server it was fine, But when i try to run the script manually I get a "this program is not a valid win32 app...." error
On some servers it works fine on some its not. On one server at first it didnt work and the it did. I cant seem to find the cause.
Tried AV, Firewall AV.... nothing

Re: NRDS Monitoring Problem
Have you tried re-downloading and re-installing? It could be a corrupt installer.
Let us know if that works.

Re: NRDS Monitoring Problem
I tried but cant make it worked.
I have copied the check_pdm and the check_winping (these are the plugins that make the problem) from a working server.
And now if I run the vbscript manually It works fine but when it runs through the scheduled task it still returns "no output returned from plugin"

Re: NRDS Monitoring Problem
When you are running it manually and it's successful are you also setting the scheduled task to run with the same user? Also, make sure to check "Run whether user is logged on or not" and test with/without "Run with Highest Privileges" checked.

What versions of Windows are the servers running? Broken vs working.cklayus wrote:On some servers it works fine on some its not. On one server at first it didnt work and the it did. I cant seem to find the cause.
As of May 25th, 2018, all communications with Nagios Enterprises and its employees are covered under our new Privacy Policy.
Re: NRDS Monitoring Problem
All of servers are 2008 r2.
The task is running under System. I changed it to run under my user with the highest privileges and it worked.
But normally the tasks under system are running fine.
Today I had another server which was monitored fine for a couple of months now but to day it suddenly stopped reporting to nagios.
I have checked and and the task was stuck on running. i stopped it and started again but now the I received "no output returned from plugin" in nagios for this server.
No matter what I did I couldn't resolve it.

Re: NRDS Monitoring Problem
Did you determine what was the cause for the task not running? Did you have a power outage?Today I had another server which was monitored fine for a couple of months now but to day it suddenly stopped reporting to nagios.
Can you show us a screenshot of the error that you are getting in XI? Also, post the "NRDS_Debug.log" from the Windows server.

Re: NRDS Monitoring Problem
The Log Showed every thing was ok. The server was up.
I have checked today and it has returned to normal state, but this instability in monitoring when there is no actual problem with the server is annoying.
Some servers just stop reporting and we are getting an unknown status in nagios.
I have opened a case before, in the end we have determined that it was an issue of the log. it was to big and nagios couldn't clean it, we wrote a script that cleans the log every time, and the issue was fixed.
But now there are other servers that are in unknown state, and I have to figure out again what is wrong.

Is opening an email support ticket an option for you? If the issue resurfaces, I would recommend emailing your profile to [email protected].I have checked today and it has returned to normal state, but this instability in monitoring when there is no actual problem with the server is annoying.
