NagiosXI post upgrade

Post by mon-team »

Hi Guys,

After upgrading XI to the latest version Nagios XI 2014R2.6, even if the upgrade completed successfully, we lost all settings in Tools->"Common Tools". What could be the reason of this?

We would like to upgrade mysql-server, can you please tell us what's the most recent version supported by Nagios XI 2014R2.6?
We are running mysql-server 5.1.73 on the XI server Cent0s 6.6

Thanks

Nagios XI upgrades usually overwrite the /usr/local/nagiosxi/html folder. If your tools were storing data in a subdirectory of the html folder, they may have been overwritten.

What type of settings are we talking about here?

Hmmm, those should have been saved in the postgres database. What version did you upgrade from?

Did you implement ldap/AD authentication in XI along with the upgrade?

No, I configured the LDAP Authentication component after the XI upgrade to enable ldap user login.

If you disable the ldap/ad components and then log in to one of the users using the old credentials, do you see the urls in tools listed?

I didn't get errors creating a tool/url under "common tools". Any idea about what caused the loss of my settings pre-upgrade?
I would like to avoid this issue during the upgrade of our production server.

You didn't answer to my second question:

Thanks
