Alert on nothing being found

Post by Dnet8 »

Hi,

When I create a new alert from the Dashboard this tooltip instructs me to use 0 for warning and critical thresholds to "alert on nothing being found"

However, when I run the alert it doesn't work as expected:

I have poked around the internet and these forums to no avail. Can anyone help? :)

This is interesting - I am running the latest development release of Nagios Log Server and do not have the tooltip that you have next to thresholds. In any case, alerting on 0 does not currently function, and our developers are aware of this. Is there something specific you are trying to do that we could help you out with?

The tool tip appears only when I try to create an alert from the dashboard. If I first go to the Alert section and create it from there, or edit an existing alert the tool tip is nowhere to be seen.

Ok, so Its coming? I a simply trying to get an alert when no "db-backup completed" entries have been logged in the last hour.

Great!

Did you file a bug report for the missing notifications, or the rouge tooltip?

Interval and depth is set to 60m.

The bug report I have filed covers both the missing notification when thresholds are set to 0, as well as the rogue tooltip. ;)

Wohoo!

I can confirm that in 2015R1.4 "altert on nothing being found" works with "1:,1:" as criteria :)

Now maybe I can convince my manager to buy this sexy system ;)

Thanks!
