individual permissions integration accounts

Post by pprokop »

Hi,

For example, I have 1 license Fusion and 2 licenses (instances) NagiosXI.
I would like to create custom access based on individual user permissions in each instance of Nagios.
For example: I have 3 of the same accounts, calling themselves the Rocky (1 account in the Fusion and 2 accounts in the NagiosXI - instance NagiosXI_1 and NagiosXI_2) and 3 accounts , calling Rambo . Similar configuration as before.

Rocky user has permission to host1 and host2 servers on instance NagiosXI_1 and to host3 on NagiosXI_2
Rambo user has permission to host host4 and host5 servers on instance NagiosXI_1 and host6 on NagiosXI_2
Other users can see in Fusion other servers eg. host7, host8, host9, .....

The question is: How to make configuration with Fusion, that user Rambo to see only their servers on both instances of NagiosXI (NagiosXI_1 and NagiosXI_2)
and Rocky user to see only their servers.

Any help on this is appreciated.

Thanks.

Nagios Fusion is not a true multi-tenancy product (as Nagios XI). There are only two types of users in Fusion - Admins and (regular) Users. Both can see ALL of the fused servers. The only difference is that Users cannot see the Admin and Configure menus.

As I understand it, is that if I do Fusion integration with Nagios instances with only the one account,
all users with Fusion see all services and hosts, even where they should not have access.
This is not a good idea, in particular, I think about information security.

Nagios user will not want to see services and hosts, that are not their responsibility. In particular, the statistics in Fusion will show all services and all hosts ....
From this it follows that the Fusion is dedicated ONLY to Nagios administrators (account nagiosadmin) or users who can see ALL services with all Nagios instances.

Did I understand ? If so, is planned to improve the situation ? When ?

Best regards

Reworking Nagios Fusion is on our developers TODO list. Unfortunately, I do not have an ETA on this.
