Nagios XI Receiving Traps But 'Pending' In UI

Post by TELUS_NET »

Hi,

I'm having an issue getting SNMP traps to show up in the Nagios XI UI. I've used the wizard to add the check to all applicable hosts, but they show the grey 'Pending' in the Services UI.

Traps are being received, some are in snmpttunknown.log but the majority are in snmptt.log, for example:

Mon Apr 13 00:42:51 2015 .1.3.6.1.6.3.1.1.5.5 Normal "Status Events" host1 - SNMP athentication failure
Mon Apr 13 00:42:51 2015 .1.3.6.1.6.3.1.1.5.5 Normal "Status Events" host1 - SNMP athentication failure
Mon Apr 13 00:42:52 2015 .1.3.6.1.6.3.1.1.5.5 Normal "Status Events" host1 - SNMP athentication failure

I've checked Unconfigured Objects in the XI UI, but there aren't any. One other strange thing I did notice is that the MySQL logging is enabled in snmptt.ini, but there are no snmptt tables in the local database. It seems like the traps are being received but something's missing that's causing them to not show up in the UI for the hosts.

I'm running a CentOS 6.6 VM ('regular',not the vmware template) with Nagios XI 2014 R2.6.

Can you please post the following files:

/etc/snmp/snmptt.ini
/etc/snmp/snmptt.conf
All files in /usr/share/snmp/mibs/processed_mibs/
