Nagios Ports between Linux and windows servers

Post by abasha »

Nagios Support,

We are using Nagios xi on Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server release 6.5 and we are using Nagios Xi to monitor our servers (Windows Servers and Linux Servers) and the services running.
We are in the process of implementing internal firewall between the servers, we would like to know what are ports required to be opened/allowed between

1) Nagios Server & Windows Servers
2) Nagios Server & Linux Servers

Appreciate your reply on the above query.

Regards,

If you are using NSClient, NRPE / NSCA, you can find the ports here: http://www.nsclient.org/nscp/wiki/doc/installation
The ports required for NCPA you can find here: http://assets.nagios.com/downloads/ncpa ... g_NCPA.pdf

The ports will of course depend greatly upon what is being monitored - If you are monitoring a MySQL database then you will most likely need port 3306 open, for example.
