How do others handle user accounts

Post by jkinning »

I am curious how other Nagios admins are handling user accounts? I currently have the AD plugin which works but you need to create a local Nagios account for users to be able to login and see their systems or see the systems you specified for them. When these users move on and quit the company how do you handle those accounts? I don't receive any notifications about users leaving the company and have come across a couple now that are no longer employed and their AD account is disabled or deleted but certain notifications to their cell phones or what not are still getting triggered. I really wish Nagios could just leverage AD for users to see certain systems and access the web interface. Is that an item in the futures?

Just a lot of user administration that hopefully will be eliminated in future releases. Curious to see how other bigger Organizations are handling alerting notifications, Nagios web access, etc.

Might I suggest moving this to the General section? You'll get much more visibility that way.
