Post by gdolidze »

I would like to setup a DR server and i cant seem to find any documentation on it.

Anyone have any suggestion on how to go about this.

There is no one answer. Generally speaking it's acceptable to just have a cold standby and ship backups to it. If you have passive checks you need to be using DNS to send them or have the ability to have your backup server assume the IP of the prod server. Here are some documents to get you going:

I was thinking maybe that have 2 identical server setup but one has notifications turned off.

When the main one dies the 2nd one is notified and turns the alerts on.

What would be a way of doing this.
