Graphs don't work every night
Re: Graphs don't work every night
Did you also increase the "load_threshold" or you left it at 60?

Would it be possible to see the disk latency stacked on there please? Both the host and the guest.

Hi
I stopped the Nagios Backups last night as we discussed.
Last night was much better. I was looking at the logs and I the load remained below 100. This is on the ncpd.log. I still saw some problems with the graphs. However most of the graphs were ok without any breaks.
I am going to try to stops my tape backups. This will be done in my backup tool. I will only stop the backups for this specific server
Lastly, do you recommend to increase the threshold to 100? Right now is at 60

Re: Graphs don't work every night
Is this an adequate long term solution? Ultimately this is still looking like a resource contention problem - but if you choose to repair it by way of limiting the amount of resources that's OK by us.bosecorp wrote:Hi

Like the above - this would be more of a patch than a repair, but it could very well resolve your problem.bosecorp wrote:Lastly, do you recommend to increase the threshold to 100? Right now is at 60

Re: Graphs don't work every night
I would look at implementing a RAM Disk AND also RRDCached:
http://assets.nagios.com/downloads/nagi ... giosXI.pdf
http://assets.nagios.com/downloads/nagi ... ios_XI.pdf
These should help with load.

Re: Graphs don't work every night
I did a test. I stop the nagios backups and helped a lot. I ran backups last night and I saw the problem again and the graphs stop working at the same time we started to run backups

Did you implement ram disk or rrdcached as suggested by Box293?

No
I moved the VM to high performance HD

bosecorp,
Did moving Nagios XI to a high performance disk resolve the issue for you? If so, are we good to lock this thread?
