Hi, I wanted to add a new contact and have done so. The problem is that I have ~40 hosts with 5-10 service checks per host. If I add the new contact on the alert tab of the host, the service checks that fail do not send a notification to the new contact. Do I have to add the contact individually to each service check? Is there a way to do this in bulk?
Thanks.

Re: Adding a new contact
LinedataIT,
If you're using SMTP as the mail delivery agent, you'll have to setup a user as a contact. This can be accomplished by adding a user to your Nagios XI console through Admin > Manage Users > Add New User and setting them up however you wish and them adding them as a contact for that particular host/service/group.

Re: Adding a new contact
Adding the user is not a problem. It is adding them to notifications. If I edit the alert tab and add them to the host config, that new contact is not getting alerted when the host services fail. Do i need to add them to each individual service or should adding them to the host work for all the services on the host?
Re: Adding a new contact
If you have not set up contact groups, then yes, you will need to add your new contact to each host and service individually. If you do have a contact group set up for each host and service you'd like to be notified of, then all you need to do is add your contact to the group.
If you have not already set up contact groups, I recommend looking into that now so that in the future adding and removing contacts will be much easier. We have document about it here.
