Problem with adding new Service Dependency
Problem with adding new Service Dependency
I just tried to add a new Service Dependency and the Dependent Services box will not populate. Anyone got a workaround for this one? I'm at R1.6.
Re: Problem with adding new Service Dependency
You need to select the corresponding host in 'Dependent hosts' first.
Re: Problem with adding new Service Dependency
That doesn't work for me.

BenCowan, can you be more specific?
When you said: "That doesn't work for me", did you mean that when you select a host from the "Dependent hosts" menu, your "Dependent services" menu would not populate?

Re: Problem with adding new Service Dependency
I apologize. It does seem to work for some Hosts and Groups.
The problem for me is that, I don't understand why it doesn't work for
ALL my Hosts and Groups..., but to answer your question:
1) I goto Service Dependencies and select Add New
2) Modify / Add both (Hosts and Dependent Hosts)
...nothing appears in services area, at least for most of
what I have setup so far.
Just trying to understand what I missed.

Re: Problem with adding new Service Dependency
If you go to the Core Config Manager and click on "Hosts" (under "Monitoring" from the left panel menu), do you see all of your hosts?
What about clicking on "Services" and filtering them by host (from the "Config name filter" drop-down menu) - can you see all of the services associated with a particular host?
Can you think of the "main" difference between the hosts and host groups that will "show" services under "Service Dependency Management" screen and those that will not? Were thy defined in a same way?
It is hard to guess what could be the difference, but if you e-mail us your latest configuration snapshot (both, the *.tar.gz and the *.txt files) to: [email protected] we can take a look at it and try to find the problem.
