Compilation error for nagios core 3.0.6 on IBM Aix5.3

Hi,

I am trying to compile nagios core 3.0.6 on IBM Aix5.3 operating system. But getting below error :

Could you please suugest what's the issue is.

I am trying it from past 10 days but no use, please help me out.

gcc: ../common/snprintf.o: A file or directory in the path name does not exist.

The above sums the error up completely.

During the build process, the make failed to compile the "snprintf.c" file into "snprintf.o". You can fix this manually by doing this:

$ cd common
$ gcc -c snprintf.c
$ cd ..

and then retrying your make. It should run to completion and produce your binaries.

I had the same problem and was solved the way exactly as prescribed. Give it a try and get us the results. If not I have another work-around possible.
