NagiosXI Metics and NCPA agent / Service group ordering

One thing that would really be a benefit to us, and sure a lot of others, would have the metrics function incorporate NCPA data. I constantly get asked for "Top 10" lists for different metrics for different Service groups and Hostgroups, etc...

It almost feels like NagiosXI development is just not keeping up with it's own agent development. I am assuming the NCPA agent is a Nagios product and not an outside open source, not really supported, agent.

I try to get around this by creating service groups, like CPU for example, but they do not sort properly. It does the whole 1%,10,11,12..19,2,20,21. I know it does this as it is taking all the text in the field and storing that, which leads to the issue.

What I end up doing is hand editing the data into a spreadsheet. This is taking up too much time. One of the best selling features I presented was the low admin overhead compared to our current solution.

I work for a major University/Medical Center and other areas are looking at what we are doing with Nagios in our institute and I get these type of questions on a regular basis. It is a little embarrassing to say, sorry I will have to customize that for you as the tool will not do top 10 with the agent we are using. Other areas really like what we are able to do with NagiosXI and the major cost savings it brought our institute but things like this hit the pause button for them.

We love the NCPA agent as the web api approach serves several functions. Some of our load testers love it as they can be load testing a server and have the NCPA web api pulled up locally and are able to capture real time data.

Any help in the area would go a long way here. Possibly even financially for your organization as others areas here may decide to purchase NagiosXI. Not a guarantee, but not an impossibility either.

Reworking the Metrics component is already on our TODO list. The NCPA data will be incorporated into the "new" Metrics component. I don't have an ETA but I believe this will be available in the next major release of Nagios XI.
