SNMP Walk reporting on Imported MIB

Post by [email protected] »

Hi,

I have spent all weekend trying to get Nagios XI to report on an imported MIB, I have read a lot of the pages and tried many things but still cannot get the results I need.

Basically we have a bespoke product that we have a MIB for, this is supported under Nagios, this has been imported in the correct way, I need the SNMP walk to report on the MIB. I am not after traps at this stage merely reporting. All the services are present, all the files and in the correct places, I have edited the snmpwalk.inc.php file as per one of the threads still not reporting. I am still trawling through other threads, there does seem to be a few like this, but no answer as such that works for me.... I have a very annoyed customer demanding results ASAP :(

If someone could give me a step by step so I can get this working I would be most grateful, if this can be resolved then we will be looking to supply this product with these bespoke devices, there are a few versions so I want to be able to support the rest hence a step by step if poss....

Thanks in advance

When you run the SNMP Walk Wizard, You may want to clear out the OID: field or add in the name of the MIB file you uploaded to the XI server.
Also, you would want to increase the Timeout and Max Results field and change Force Scan to yes.
If you have any errors after trying this, please post them.

Many thanks for the guidance, I had tried but not used the correct details :(

it turned out I needed to use iReasoning MIB Browser and put the first numeric details in to search then it all works.

Hope this may help someone else in the future, really simple when you know......
