BPI v2.31 User (read-only) not working properly

Post by takalan1 »

i would like to have 2 accounts for different view in BPI V2.31 nagios XI 2014R1.3
the first account "nagiosadmin" should be manged and viewed all hosts and services which its has by default

i try to create additional account (Test user)for Read-only and Just view a few hosts and services for user to monitor only

but i have problem when i log in by Test user and go to Nagios BPI.
i found that the Status of my test still green with OK which different from the Nagiosadmin account that currently this host is down

Please advise why does the Test user doesn't update as Nagiosadmin account?

Log in Nagios XI as "nagiosadmin", click on the "Nagios BPI", then click on "Edit BPI Settings", deselect the "Show All Groups To All Users" check-box, and hit "Apply Settings". Log in as the "test" user and see if the status of the BPI group will be shown correctly. Let me know if this helped.

That link was added to the newer version of BPI.
You should be able to get to the same place by clicking on "Admin" > "Manage Components" and then scroll down to the Nagios BPI component and click on the "Edit Settings" icon.

As your advise, i found that there are no deselect both "Logic Handling For Problem States" and "Show All Groups To All Users" before.
however i try to refresh by select and deselect but the problem is not solve. even if i choose "Essential Member" on the host down but it is still same result.
Please advise ...

Can you elaborate on this?

I just spun Nagios XI 2014R1.3 VM. The "Nagios BPI" component version is the same as yours (2.31), and I do see these options.
