Remove network service checks
When service checks are disabled or removed, do the MRTG checks remain? Is there any cleanup to ensure that it isn't check those ports anymore? Looking at the service checks made by switch wizards, it just checks for RRD files, so looks like there's no tie in for any cleanup.

Re: Remove network service checks
Today there is no tie in between the service you delete and the mrtg checks, you're correct. So you may have a bunch of zombie checks out there. The cleanup would be performed in /etc/mrtg/conf.d
I doubt this will change as in the next major release we will drop the current method and do our interface monitoring mrtg-free.

Thanks. Is there a estimated date when that release will be available? If not perhaps a time frame?
Also will it have the ability to convert existing checks from MRTG to the new non-mrtg checks?

More than a day, less than a year. FWIW - I have a zillion testing tasks in my queue, I think they're really motivated over in the developers' area these days.
I don't think that's on the docket - but I do think that ease of setup was <BIG><BIG><BIG> on the developers minds when they put the component together.CFT6Server wrote:Also will it have the ability to convert existing checks from MRTG to the new non-mrtg checks?
