IP change on Nagios server

Post by tgfde »

HI,

We are planning on changing the IP on our Nagios server in a week or two. I have identified one location (allowed hosts - within the NSC.ini file on all agents) as to where I need to make the change, does anyone know if I need to make any changes on the Nagios server?

Also, instead of putting the new IP of the Nagios server, I've decided to put the DNS name for the Nagios server instead of its IP. This way, I don't have to make anymore changes on the agents once we change the IP on the Nagios server.

Thanks.

You shouldn't have any problems doing this. The only thing that you should be aware of is that when you change your IP address on your Nagios server, you will be asked to re-activate your license.
