Send a test notification to a contact

Is there a way to send out a test notification to a contact or do I have to setup the contact to a host or service and have that go critical so Nagios XI dispatches the notification? I thought I saw somewhere where you can send a test notification to a user but this is just a contact, pager, and want to test what the notification display looks like on the device.

Hi jkinning,

NagiosXI makes this pretty easy (assuming you have a User account associated with the contact):

Admin --> Users --> Manage Users

Click the eyeball icon in for the user which you want to test - this will masquerade you as that user.

Once logged in as that user simply click your username in the upper-right hand corner

Notification Options --> Send Test Notifications.
