Different Fused screens

Post by kasujjf »

Hello
I would like to know the possibility of having different Fused views running on same Fusion server.
We have NagiosXi installed in 9 Data Centers spread across 6 countries. The monitoring team dedicates a team to a country and for countries with multiple DCs we would like to Fuse only the relevant DCs. Can the same Fusion server display different Fused views?

I'm pretty sure that all Nagios servers are fused together on one Fusion host. So you would need multiple Fusion servers to do what you are trying to do.

That's exactly what I was hoping to avoid. A Nagios instance can present different views to different users and was hoping to have the same functionality with Fusion.

But then they wouldn't need to sell more than one license for fusion to each customer. :-)

If you do need more licenses, PM me. My company is an authorized reseller and we can get you some discounts.

Well, it's not that we are trying to sell more licenses by leaving out features if that is what you are implying.

Fusion is not where a lot of people want it to be, functionality-wise. The reason for this is that turning it from a HUD to a fully-integrated multi-system CCM is a pretty huge overhaul of both Fusion and XI/Core. Doing so in a way that respects the remote multi-tenancy setup is even more complicated. It is definitely on our radar, but for the time-being its intention is to be display-only.

In regards to specifically showing only a subset of fused servers, this would be much easier to accomplish, and I would be more than happy to put in an official feature request. Would it suffice to say "Allow a per-user selection of which fused servers to display"?

@tm, just joking around.

Seriously, I think being able to limit which fused servers are shown, either by logged-in user and/or specific dashboard would be a great feature.

Though I do like selling multiple Fusion licenses, too....

Feature request added: #5943 - Add ability to separate visibility of fused servers per user

As such, I am going to close this up now. If you need anything else, please feel free to open a new thread!
