Nagios on Linux

Post by Georgemchaels222 »

Is there anyway to install Nagios XI without using a image? I would like to install it directly to ubuntu without the need of virtual. I have installed nagios core directly to ubuntu and it works great but Not everyone in the office including me is 100% linux savvy and we all need the nice neat interface of xi.

Nagios XI does not currently run on Ubuntu. Our officially supported platforms are Red Hat Enterprise Linux and CentOS, versions 5 and 6. We are currently working on adding Debian to our supported platforms, which would probably make it possible to install on Ubuntu as well (similar to how you can install XI on Scientific Linux, Fedora, and a few other Red Hat derivatives even though we don't officially support them). I don't have a timeframe for when that will happen though.

Hope that helps!
