An administrator called me saying he is getting "Invalid username or password" when he was attempting to login to NagiosXI.
When I look at the "Admin/Manage Users" screen only one user is listed.
First fear: What happened to all the users that were previously there? (Did update applied in June wipe them out??)
Second fear: How do I repopulate the NagiosXI user list?
As a test, I tried re-adding one of the previous entries (pteegarden). It responded: "An account with that username already exists.
Unable to get insert id for new user account".
Nagios and NagiosXI is running, alerts are being sent and received. Users are unable to login and get into the interface.
Disapearing NagiosXI Users?
Re: Disapearing NagiosXI Users?
Are you seeing any errors in your /var/lib/pgsql/data/pg_log/postgresql-Thu.log? Or anything in your /var/log/httpd/error_log or /var/log/httpd/ssl_error_log that may be related?

Re: Disapearing NagiosXI Users?
Disappearing users part Resolved.
I guess this falls in the stupid user tricks category.
It was only displaying one user because the was previously prepopulated (from another session) entry in the SEARCH box.
Cleared the text from the box... all users showed up.
Now trying to figure out why this administrator cannot logon.
Here is a question: I have AD authentication module installed and enabled. If I have a local password set for any account, will AD authentication NOT work?

Re: Disapearing NagiosXI Users?
AD authentication should work fine, a password is required when you create the user so every one of them should have a local password as well.
What does it say when you try to login?

Re: Disapearing NagiosXI Users?
When user attempts to login, they get "Invalid username or password."
This got me looking at the IP configured for the Domain Controllers.
At one time we had 4 DCs. Now we only have 2. As my luck would have it, the module was pointed at the 2 that got turned off.
I guess the Windows admins didn't think to tell me that they were taking 2 of them out of service.
Now I can log on with AD credentials.
Problem solved!
Thanks for your help!
