"This page allows for notification messages and settings to be saved and deployed to a selected list of Nagios XI users or contact groups."
It seems that an update actually updates whatever users have been updated in the past or a random selection of those users. Even if I select the empty user or group it updates my user and once I start getting notifications to my user I have to go back in and disable notifications to me.
This feature seems to be unreliable that I have to generate test alerts to verify it works after any change. In fact at this moment, notifications from one of my Nagios systems isn't working at all.
The version is 2014R2.6.
Notification setting management updates users not selected
Re: Notification setting management updates users not select
Please go to Admin -> Manage Components and tell me what version of the Notification Management component you have.

Can you give us a specific example of the changes that you are making and the outcome? Configs and screenshots (before & after) would be helpful. Thanks!

If you create a few users and a group, add a user to the group and then modify notification settings in Admin, Notification Settings Management, you should see it update users not selected.
Is there a way to see what the notification config is set to?

Re: Notification setting management updates users not select
Did you select the check-box under the "Deploy Notification Settings" section? See below:
I was not able to recreate the issue. From within the "Notification Settings Management" page I was able to modify the notification options of "test1" user just fine.

Re: Notification setting management updates users not select
Of course the checkbox is checked.
If you read my post above, you'll see that the issue isn't that users are not getting updated, but that users not selected are being updated.

Re: Notification setting management updates users not select
I had a contact group w/ one contact/user in it. Once I deleted that the problem in the post title seems to have gone away. I suspect there's some issue w/ the php script or script, but it might be tough to track down.
I did figure out why I wasn't getting notifications, and learned a few things along the way. I also broke a few while fixing the notifications...

So the issue is gone for now? Is there anything else that we can help you with in this thread, or are we free to close it? It's always nice when a bug goes away, but kind of a bummer if we can't reproduce it.gormank wrote:I had a contact group w/ one contact/user in it.
