Ok so i tried something a little different. I tried installing nagvis from scratch and i got a lot farther but now when i try to load the backend ndomy_1 and then try to load the auto map i get this error.

Looking at it i think it might have to do with the user password config for getting into the database for some reason it denies root@local host?

Any insight on this would be great.

Ok i fixed that much by changing the default settings in nagvis for the backend for the database now im just down to this error "The given instance name "default" in backend "ndomy_1" is not valid." anyone know what the value for the dbinstancename should be in nagvis? I tried checking the ndo2db.cfg file which is where i found all of my other settings for the db except that one entry which at this point is the only thing preventing nagvis from creating default automaps?

Yeah, localhost is right. Although it's a bit odd that you still had default, since the config file changes should all be done by the script provided with the documentation.
