Exchange Wizard does not list Exchange 2013(cont)

Post by sharding »

From the prior thread you had mentioned about using

https://exchange.nagios.org/directory/P ... th/details

1) do I still need to setup all the parts of the nsclient file outlined in , like ports etc

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2PM9U_0cwt0

2) Back t my original point, the Exchange Wizard does not list 2013 (or any newer Exchange) so how do I run the wizard to do the Exchange 2013 checks, that the suggested plugin would create?

If this is easier to move to an support e-mail then let's do so, I'm surprised that no-one wants to monitor an exchange 2013

Hi sharding,

I had another person post about this on the customer support forum. The answer I got from the developers was to use the 2010 wizard, and see if it worked out. I am still waiting for feedback from the person that we had try this out. We do not have Exchange 2013 set up here so I can't test it myself. If you wanted to test that out and get some feedback, I can forward it to the developers and provide some feedback which could help us get some traction on getting this feature implemented.

As far as doing a support email, unless you have paid support from us it will get filtered out. Personally, I do not have the ability to look that up.

I do have paid support (I thought this was a customer only forum anyway, obviously incorrect) I am referring to an existing post but it now closed, which does make it difficult.

I agree, if you have a system which customers pay for and you have features that support certain versions you should keep up with them newer versions, outlook 2010 is a bit long in the tooth now - we have been running 2013 for over a year and it is frustrating to find out how to work with this.

The customer forum is good as you get the obvious benefit of crowd-sourcing, but the response from Nagios team is sometimes slow, e-mail seems to be quicker.

To move forward here I like the suggestion of contacting the devs for an official response.

Thanks

@sharding,

Sorry for the confusion! To clear some things up, we do have a customer-only section of the forums here, and a public-use forum here in which this thread currently resides. Our SLA only applies to the Customer section, so if you have been posting in General this whole time that might explain the slower response times - we prioritize the Customer section over the rest, but we still try to get replies out to General as quickly as we can otherwise. Our Sales team should have explained this to you during the purchasing process, and if not I apologize.

Second, which post are you referring to? I can certainly re-open it if you would like, wouldn't be any trouble at all.

In going forward, I can do a few things for you:
  • Move this to the Customer section of the forum - you may need to ask [email protected] to add your username to the Customer section (we on the Support side do not have any control over account-related changes)
  • Have you open a ticket by emailing [email protected] so we can continue via email, and possibly set up a remote session if needed
  • I can bring this to the attention of the developers, but once it is in their court the most I could do would be to act as a middle-man as they typically don't interface directly with the public
We can do any of the above, just let me know how you would like to continue. The one catch is that if you open a ticket, we will close this thread so we are not asking the same questions in both places. At any rate, I would strongly advise you to reach out to Sales to get access to the Customer section.

I have access to customer support, I guess my bad I did not realize this was not the customer forum, if future I will try to be more careful about which I use,

I had wondered why I was getting awful response times for my money !

I tried a test of the 2010 wizard (using mostly defaults) just to see

I'm thinking seeing as I've been waiting for a long time and not getting anywhere we should move this to an e-mail case, then I can attach results from my test and we can do a remote session when this is able to be scheduled.

Thanks for pointing out my error in posting, you are the only person who noticed, other techs have willingly moved the case to e-mail before.

Do you do the move or do I generate an e-mail and include a link to this and the other thread?

To give credit where credit is due, @hsmith first noticed it, I just stepped in to answer.

I think the best route would be to send in an email to [email protected] with a descriptive subject, links to this and your other thread, and a short description so we can have some context aside from the links themselves. A tech will pick up the ticket, and normally we do some troubleshooting before diving into a remote - in this case, make sure to mention that we suggested a remote so we know to skip the formalities.

Will do - I'll e-mail it in now, yes it was noticed in this thread but not in the other or any of the others, again my fault, maybe customer services who set this up for customers could maybe highlight this to benefit future customers from making the same mistake.

e-mail on way... Please close this thread
