email and cell phone notifications

Hello,

I would like some clarification on how notices are sent out to email and cell phones.... I am looking to send a shorter brief message to a cell phone. Should I create a separate contact for each person's cell phone? Or can I specify their cell phone as the 2nd add-on address? If so, how would I send a shorter notification to it?

If you login as the user who will be receiving notifications, navigate to Configure->My Account Settings->Notification Methods. Here you can select whether a user will receive email or mobile notifications and you can specify a phone number & carrier. If you then click on Notification Messages on the right sidebar, you can customize the text that is sent (separately for both email & mobile notifications). This is per-user and you will need to change these preferences one at a time for each user.
