All of a sudden the apply configurations isn't working. It gets to "Waiting for configuration verification" and just keeps spinning and spinning.

Can you verify if the config actually applied and that the page just got stuck? Or did the config actually not apply?
As of May 25th, 2018, all communications with Nagios Enterprises and its employees are covered under our new Privacy Policy.

One more thing before I go to sleep. When we run a report and export to pdf (I'm not sure if there is the same behavior for other types of export, the name of the pdf is always availibility.pdf
As I have to run multiple reports sometimes, it would be better and more convenient if all the reports were not named exactly the same. Some suggestions:

availibility-host1-YYYYMMdd-HHmmss
availibility-hostgroup-YYYYMMdd-HHmmss

By appending the host / hostgroup and the date we would not have to rename every exported pdf.
Any chance the exported pdf could get a better naming system? (Maybe in a later release)

Another question => Is there any documentation about the new REST api?

If I let it go long enough, this finally appears:

Code: Select all

Apply Configuration
Waiting for configuration verification........................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................
Reset config permissions failed.
An error occurred while attempting to apply your configuration to Nagios Core. Monitoring engine configuration files have been rolled back to their last known good checkpoint.

I'm guessing its a sudoers issue. Is there some new command needed in XI 5.0? Our sudoers is centrally managed and the sudoers file on this host was overwritten at 8am today.

Should be present under the Help menu, but there are a few parts that still need to be worked on. I went through and tested that all in the Beta release, and found a few commands that need to be fixed but work once they are correct.

Can you post the snapshot? It probably has the reason for the failure in there.

There is nothing wrong with the snapshot, "Reset config permissions failed" is the problem!

The devs will certainly respond soon - but for testing, here is my sudoers file from a fresh XI 5 test machine:

That fixed it...took a while but then applied again and it was back to being quick....now to get everything needed added to the sudoers permanently.
