Hi,
I am run NagiosXI 2014R2.7.
Is there an easy and fast way to remove a large amount of hosts and services related to those hosts from Scheduled Downtime? The only way I can see on removing them is by going to Schedule Downtime and clicking the trash can next to the host or server, then going through the pages after to acknowledge that I want to remove it.
Also, is there an easy and fast way to put a large group of hosts and services in to Scheduled Downtime? We had an outage this past week and we had to go through one server at a time to disable alerting.
Thanks,
David
Remove Multiple Servers From Downtime
Re: Remove Multiple Servers From Downtime
If you goto my listings in the exchange I released a couple items(mass remove downtime and itc schedule downtime) that in my opinion make both things you want much easier. However, they both already exist in XI. Under mass acknowledge scroll down to bottom and that'll list all downtimes and you can check all the ones you want to remove(mine is even easier). As for scheduling for a group of servers, yes, you can schedule a downtime for a servicegroup or hostgroups. Again, my component makes that just a tad bit easier than the stock way of doing it. For the stock method, go to the hostgroup or servicegroup summary pages and from there click the link for "hostgroup commands" or "servicegroup commands"
Not trying to toot my own horn, but they are two items I spent time on making as easy as possible for the 150+ users so they would quit calling me(or my team)!

Thanks Bandit. I did find this. I am using XI and had to install it.
For Nagios - will these features make it into Nagios in later releases?
Thanks,
David

Re: Remove Multiple Servers From Downtime
I submitted a request for this particular feature not too long ago. As of right now, it's not on the roadmap, but it may gain traction in the future. Be sure to reference the number 6428 to any Nagios tech and we'll be happy to check on the status for you.For Nagios - will these features make it into Nagios in later releases?
Re: Remove Multiple Servers From Downtime
Thanks. Any help would be appreciated. We are building a new environment and we had to take 30 servers down for a disaster recover test and we tons of alerts. Its crazy to have to manually go to each one and put host and all associated services in maintenance mode. I tried using host groups and service groups and utilize re-occurring downtime. That did not work.

Can you elaborate on this?I tried using host groups and service groups and utilize re-occurring downtime. That did not work.
You can easily schedule a downtime for all hosts/services in a hostgroup:
Home->Hostgroup Summary->View Hostgroup Commands->
-> Schedule downtime for all hosts in this hostgroup
-> Schedule downtime for all services in this hostgroup
You can do the same with the servicegroups.

Hi David,
Is there anything else we can do for you, or is this one resolved?
