DB passive monitoring

Hi,

Is there any way to monitor mysql, mssql, sybase, pgsql, oracle db's passively.

Those databases don't have any way to send passive checks themselves to Nagios. Passive checks can be sent back to Nagios from a remote host running the plugin for you. Is that the goal you seek? If not can you be more descriptive about the architecture you're looking to achieve?
