Bandwidth 0 when monitoring Cisco switch

Post by sperez »

Help is needed in troubleshooting Bandwidth 0 when monitoring Cisco switch.

We added a Cisco Nexus Switch using Monitoring Wizard. Nagios scan interfaces correctly (we tried both options: Port Number and Port Description, and SNMP version selected was 2 or 2c). After scanning finished: Port, Max Speed, PortName/Port Description, Bandwidth, Port Status were displayed with correct values. Unselect ports which were not used. Click on Next until finished.
Port Staus information is correct but Bandwidth displayed 0.

We are using Nagios 2011R1.7
That configuration worked correctly using version Nagios XI 2009R1.1H

Folk I am having the same issue. I am thinking I need to hire someone to do this for me. I am a non-techy trying to do techy work and it driving me nuts. This is the same reason I do not fix my own cars.

What that usually means is some sort of rounding is going on. Can you delete one of the bandwidth services, and then recreate it using a lower bandwidth unit, like Kb instead of Mb and see if that helps?
