Issue while fetching Reports

Dear Team,

Nagiosxi version :- upgraded to Nagios XI 5R1.0 from Nagios XI 2014R2.7

we have offloaded mysql to another server

We are facing performance issue with Nagiosxi application since last 1 week, below are some of the major issue faced with regards to performance

1. Navigating on Dashboard take time to populate
2. When accessing services in CCM it takes more than 60 sec to get populated even if we limit list to 15
3. while fetching reports Browser Tab just hangs or some times even if reports is generated it takes more than 10 - 15 mins
4. While apply configuration it takes long time to apply and after this monitoring engine process take 10 - 15 min to restart. ( So active check gets delayed )

we didn't find any relevant info in logs as well, connection time to remote mysql server looks fine, below are the output of logs

Are you seeing anything on your offloaded DB in /var/log/mysqld.log?

Sounds like you could have some crashed tables.

Nothing is standing out. One thing I'm noticing is that the time from your apache error_log doesn't correlate with the time from your other logs:

Please find the below answers to your "Probably unrelated" questions..

1) Sometimes load peeks to high (around 80-100) mostly occupied by httpd process in top command. By that time we need to restart the nagios services (nagios, ndo2db, httpd). Thats why the 5 min, 15 min avg are higher than current load.

2) No idea why the python checks crashing wildly. Still the error comes in syslog.

Kindly help us to fix the issue in priority. Thanks in advance.

Also kindly let us know the procedure to open support ticket for remote session.

Did this load/restart issue exist before the upgrade, or is it an entirely new phenomena. We may need to see what the output of `top` looks like when your system is in that state.

Depending on the report, this is expected behavior. Running this (especially for long lookback periods) will dramatically affect system performance. Is this the only place where you're experiencing slowness? I was under the impression there was some issue with CCM also? Or perhaps the CCM performance issue can be tied back to the system being overwhelmed at the time by avail.cgi?

Hi,

Load pecking issue is there even before the upgrade. Mostly it happens with the following scenario..

1) Host being configured with the help of wizard.
2) Active checks are disabled / Hosts are being in Gray color ( Host is checking...) in services section. / Host group are not view able.
Note : Mostly all above comes together.
3) So we forced to restart the nagios services. Load peeks since lots of check being handled at same point of time.

We also feel the slowness in CCM. While loading Services and Host in CCM. Even though we restrict the list to 15. But we couldn't find a specific process using lot of CPU.
Irrespective of loading reports CCM also slow.

Note : Loading report is different from the Loading report page. Whenever we click on Report in Nagios top ribbon it happens as described in prior posts. Sometimes it gets loaded after sometime and same thing happens if we try to load a report of specific host.

Please let us know if any information needed.

Please help us to fix the issue in priority.

We can either continue here or in the email ticket, but not both at once. Please let us know where you would like to continue so we can focus our efforts on one means of communication.
