Using two different domains for accessing Nagios portal

Post by jyoti22 »

Hi,
I have setup the Nagios XI with xxxhosting.local domain. Now the customer wanted to access it with one more domain xyz. Please suggest if we can give access for both domains?
Thanks.

This will need to be set up in your DNS settings, which is somewhat out of scope of what we can set up for you. However in XI, there is only support for a single internal/external URL set, and these are used in emails that get sent out to provide a quick link to log in.

Sorry I put my question incorrectly.
I would like to give user access which have two different mail ids.
like [email protected] and [email protected]

Can I give access to users for both id's. Please confirm.

Also, in our environment, Users with Admin priviledges have "!" in the userid. When adding the user details, Nagios accepts it. But When I try to make any configuration changes and apply the configuration, that time I get error for these usres. Can you please advice on it as well.

If you want to log in to one user with both email addresses as the login credentials, this is not possible. A user can only have one login name, and one password. And typically we use the username instead of the email to log in.

What about "!" sign which is at start of username and email id. When I add this entry, user can access the Nagios portal, However, After adding such entry, I cannot apply the configuration successfully for other changes.

Now I am very confused. Are we talking about usernames, email addresses, or something else? When you said "When I add this entry" what are you referring to by "this"?

Sorry for the confusion. Actually I had asked 2 questions and got answer for first.
User add with "!" was was second question and there is no relation of it to 1st question.
Let me Elaborate the issue, In my environment we have AD userid entries start with "!" ex : "!jyoti"
When I create the user with this entry. User can login to Nagios without any issue. However when I update/add any service/host group, I get error in the configuration. (please see attached "screen capture" and "Error" files for details)

However, when I update same user removing "!" mark and try to apply same configuration, it got successfully applied (please see attached "Success" file for details)

Could you please address this issue.

Can you try using quotes, or escaping the ! character? This could be complicated, as Nagios uses ! to separate arguments. You're saying that your email addresses have ! in them..?
