Configuration Wizard
Configuration Wizard
These are very helpful, but I don't see one for monitoring a linux server. Is there somewhere I can download one from?
Re: Configuration Wizard
We're working on one now. Its a combined Linux + Asterisk config wizard we built for a client, but we'll be separating it into two different wizards. The wizard will require the agent (NRPE) be configured in a certain way.
Out of curiosity, do you already have NRPE installed on any Linux boxes? Lastly, what types of Linux distros would you need to monitor? We're looking at the most efficient way to package NRPE and the required plugins for different platforms.

Re: Configuration Wizard
Thanks for the reply.
Yes I have NRPE installed on our webserver (CentOS 5) and also on one of our database servers (Debian 5). These would be the main distros I would want to monitor aulthough we are looking at Ubuntu 9.10 for some.
I also am testing a version of NRPE for Windows Servers, not with a lot of success though.
The NRPE I have installed on the Linux boxes works well with Nagios Core.

Re: Configuration Wizard
I ran into the same problem with not having a wizard for Linux, but did the following.
Created a Service "Check Load" which uses the check_nrpe command and passes the check_load argument and added all my linux hosts.
I also have the option of adding this service to Host Groups, so any servers in the linux-servers host group will automatically get this service.
By the way, I'm using nrpe on RedHat & AIX servers (need the no_ssl option for AIX) & nsclient++ on my windows servers.
So far the nrpe for RH and nsclient++ works with NagiosXI

Re: Configuration Wizard
The Linux wizard should be included in 2009R1.1H.
