SLA Target with Service Ratio

Post by castroi »

Hello,

The current SLA reporting capability of Nagios XI is great.
However we would like to create combined SLA report with ratios as not all Services are equal.
Example:
Overall combined SLA target of 99% for icmp for all sites but :
-HQ should count for 75% of overall combined SLA target
-small sites should only count for 25% of overall combined SLA target

This way you can have overall combined sla for management in one report.
Otherwise you will have to do 2 reports, SLA for HQ and SLA for small sites, and then to do ratio yourself and generate manually a report.

Is this capability in roadmap ?

Thank you

Not currently on the roadmap as far as I know. There is a feature in Nagios Core 4 called Importance, and it's basically a 1-100 value representing the relative value of the host/service to your organization. If we implemented that in the CCM in XI, I think it would be easy to use those values to tweak the SLA. I'll see what the devs think.

That would be great, to somehow integrate it to SLA report from Nagios XI.
SLA ratio is quiet essential for enterprise customers.
SLA report integrated was an important part of the decision to move from legacy tools to Nagios XI (eg. Management Support)

castroi,

Since you have a Nagios XI license, would it be alright if I moved this post over to the Customer Forum? In the Customer Forum you will have priority support. Also, if you'd like this SLA feature implemented, I would be happy to open a feature request on your behalf.

Thanks, let me know!
