So the blue cylindrical tubes are representative of layer 3 networks?

If that's the case you can use mod_gearman on either of management or login. I recommend mod_gearman over DNX, DNX is a dead project. They perform the same function but mod_gearman is more mature and feature rich.

I'm not sure where the "cloud" fits into your picture, but your statement is correct. The only ports that need to be open are the ones configured for the transmission from the workers back to the gearmand server. You will have to place a worker on your "cloud" network segment.
