I wonder if this is related to this:

https://tracker.nagios.org/view.php?id=642

I'll link this thread to the developer and see what he says.

I think raising an issue on GitHub is about as good of an option as you have. The worker code has issues on Solaris.

I know that's not much help...

Easy options, use pre-4.x code or use Linux. I'm sure our C developer will try to figure out the issue in time, but it's going to be pretty low priority since we have so few Solaris users.

Linux is not an option at present.

Could I suggest that there should be a known issues section on the web site ? At very least I would not have wasted a lot of effort building a version of the software which is known not to work.

When you say the developer will get to it in time - what are talking about - 2 or 3 months, 6 or 9 months, a year or two, or more like "its on our list but we'll never have time to get to it" ?

The Issues page on our Core GitHub repository would probably be the closest we have to a "Known Issues" page. The problem is that people don't always post those issues, so we don't know about them. Posting the issue was the right first step toward getting this resolved. From here, the Core dev will need to take a look at this and prioritize it against all the other issues that are posted. I don't have any real control over that process, at least not directly. As for how long it will take, I really can't say. I won't lie to you, there are some things that are opened that we tag as "Won't Fix" either because they aren't actually broken, are an extreme edge case with no great way to test, or are for a really obscure platform (we will not patch Core to work on your TI-83+, as cool as that would be). What I can say is that, as time goes on and more and more people +1 the issue, it is more likely to be addressed in one way or another. I don't want to promise anything I can't guarantee, but I will say that we look into every issue that is posted.
