Nagios XI Operations Screen Component

Post by iceman2133 »

Component Install.jpg
I recently updated to Nagiox XI 5.2.0. I was trying to modify the Operations Screen component to add a custom logo and it looks like after I downloaded the file to work on, it's no longer there. I tried re uploading the zip file but I would get that error "Component installation failed. Uploaded zip file is not a component. If I reboot the server, I get a message that the component is scheduled for download and I never see it.

I was able to FTP the component file to the /usr/local/nagiosxi/html/includes/components directory, but I just don't seem to be able to get that Operations Screen to show up. I've even tried to just reinstall Nagios XI and that didn't work either. Can anyone recommend anything with trying to get that component back?

Thank you!
Jeff

Are you still able to get to the operations screen on the home page? Sometimes I've found if you upload a component with bad code, it can cause everything to be upset, and uploading anything else won't work until you delete the zip that you tried to upload off of the server, and restart httpd and nagios. If you're trying to modify this, I would just do it right from the command line.

At this point I was able to remove that folder from my Nagios instance and after a reboot, I just have "Component scheduled for installation."

As soon as I got that screen popped up, I used putty to get to the /usr/local/nagiosxi/html/includes/components directory and when I ran an ls, nothing was there. So at this point I no longer have the opscreen directory on my Nagios XI instance.

Thanks,
Jeff

Everything is working now! I followed the same procedure that this post suggested and that worked successfully.
