"Slideshow" multiple dashboards on a single screen?
Was wondering how to display multiple Nagios custom dashboards, one after another, on a single screen.
The application is an Operations Center environment, where we use four screens to display useful data. Was wondering about using one screen to cyclically display three or four custom Nagios dashboard clusters, one after another.
There would be no interaction with these screens; they're just for display.
And thanks much for any thoughts.

You can make a view of a dashboard and rotate the views. (Use the popout URL of the dashboard) Grtz

I've done that before and it works really well.WillemDH wrote:You can make a view of a dashboard and rotate the views. (Use the popout URL of the dashboard) Grtz

Folks -
Thank you. Appears URL Rotator scripts are what I need.
I found one free script that might do - http://www.ljscripts.com/freescripts/
The net search for that class of tools:
https://www.google.com/?gws_rd=ssl#q=fr ... tor+script

Hmm I'm not sure why you would use an external tool if this feature is already integrated in Nagios XI?

I would suggest using the built-in Views component of XI, since we can't help with integrating third-party JavaScript libraries.
That being said, are we all clear to close this thread?

Appreciate the info, but not quite sure how to use this. The rotator feature is because the four flatscreens we're showing status dashboards on are not user interactable.
Typical users can only view. The issue is we've several screens we'd wish to show. We've too much information for any one status screen.

The rotator idea was to show several dashboard composites one after another. How might I do this with views? Not clear to me.
The idea is that users see the screens, and if there are alerts, they go to their personal machines to further interrogate Nagios XI.
and appreciate your time and thought.

If you create the dashboard you want, then on the dashboard page "right click" copy link locationedward.bosco wrote:The rotator idea was to show several dashboard composites one after another. How might I do this with views? Not clear to me.
Then add the copied URL to your views

We use a firefox plugin.
https://addons.mozilla.org/En-us/firefo ... b-rotator/
It switches between tabs on a timer. We have a ton of Dashboards.
my 2 cents...

Re: "Slideshow" multiple dashboards on a single screen?
Nice tip Steve! The inbuilt views problem is that there is no way to automatically expand a view with a dashboard which has a NagVis map on it, as the first time you need to authenticate against NagVis.. Are you using NagVis maps in your views?
