Trial version notifications issues

Post by lynrob »

When trying to update notification preferences I get the following error repeated for each day of the week. I didn't modify the notification times but these errors seem to be referring to those times.
SQL: SQL Error [nagiosql] : You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'range='00:00-24:00' WHERE tipId='1' AND definition='sunday'' at line 1
Also only the nagiosadmin user seems to be able to modify these settings. I have tried to create other admins as "monitoring contacts" as suggested, but still only nagiosadmin can make notification changes.

I am running the Nagios XI VMware image (2011R1.7) on a RHEL 5.7 server

We have a bug in the 1.7 VM. You can read about it here:

It is already fixed and probably we will be releasing a development edition sometime by the end of the next week. If you need a patch sooner, please, let us know.
