Switch monitoring

Post by bennyboy »

Hi,

I use snmp to monitor a switch. It's working perfectly. The only thing i don't understand is the snmp discover port and start to check it. That good but if he discover the port already at down state it's normal. Can you explain how to not put the port to critical because it's the normal state at this moment and if the port go up and after that down now it's a problem.

Thank you!

I'm a bit confused by your post - just to clarify - are you wondering why the SNMP discovery alerts on a port that is down that you have monitored (you know it's down though and is normal)?

You can mark the service as inactive under the Core Config Manager in Service Management so that it's not monitored.

Does this answer your question?
