check_bpi CPU high after upgrade nagios XI 5.2.2

Post by datacom »

Hello,
In 5.2.1 the check_bpi wasn't consume lot of CPU, my last topic was resolved. Now with 5.2.2, there are an other possible problem (90% of CPU) but just during the processes time only(relatively short). Therfore, all the core CPU go up with multiple check.
Is it normal?
Best regards

Is this a non-English system? The only thing I can see in the changelog from 5.2.1 to 5.2.2 regarding BPI is regarding state colors and non-English systems.

Hello,
It's an english system. Perhaps, I had the "problem" with 5.2.1. yet! As I was happy to see check_bpi processes don't block CPU to 100% permanently.I didn't note each bpi thread with lot of CPU during 1 or 2 secondes.
Otherwise, on CPU Server average, all is good. I saw the graphic nagios XI CPU statistics in red during short time, it's why I've checked all processes by shell.

I spoke with the developers, and they informed me the load on your system is normal at this point.

They did fix the issue where it was using 100% of the CPU for a while when you upgraded before, now it just uses it for the short time to run the check. It is nothing to worry about.
