Hello all,
We have Nagios NA up and running with great results. We are having an issue with DNS resolution though. The majority of the IP's resolve fine but we have a few random ones that do not. The IP's are registered in DNS and I can ping the name fine from the server console. Has anyone run into anything similar?

Forward resolving:
is easy. Reverse resolving isn't guaranteed. Can you look up the PTR record for the associated IPs and get valid names back?dshearon wrote: I can ping the name fine from the server console

I haven't really had much time to mess with it but the small amount of troubleshooting I did perform has me thinking this isn't a Nagios problem but an issue with the server and DNS registration. I will keep you guys updated when I find a solution.
