Hi guys,
Last night our XI (2014R2.7) server crashed (hung) a little before 9:15pm. It was successfully brought back on-line around 11pm. I have looked through many logs and had our VM team look from ESX side of things. Nothings sticks out but 1 thing.
The postrges log (/var/lib/pgsql/data/pg_log/postgresql-Wed.log) I see this entry:
LOG: database system was interrupted; last known up at 2015-12-02 21:12:59 EST
LOG: database system was not properly shut down; automatic recovery in progress
LOG: redo starts at 12/1E9BB568
LOG: record with zero length at 12/1EA22140
LOG: redo done at 12/1EA22110
LOG: last completed transaction was at log time 2015-12-02 21:17:13.743791-05
LOG: database system is ready to accept connections
LOG: autovacuum launcher started
Have you seen in the past this issue? I'm not sure what have caused the issue - killing postgresql.
Thx

Re: XI Crashed : Postgres Issue - Potentially
Please close. Believe this is a VM issue. These LOG entries appear to be logged after the reboot (when postgres was coming back online).

Sounds good - glad you were able to resolve it. I'll close this out now, but feel free to open another thread if you ever need assistance in the future.
