Question about a Nagios IP address
What is 96.126.126.159? Our nagios server is making a handful of http requests to this IP a day and I'm just curious as to what it is. The update server is allowed through our firewall, but this is still being blocked and I'm wondering if it's anything important.
Re: Question about a Nagios IP address
What version of XI are you running?
I was able to find an old thread that addressed this, https://support.nagios.com/forum/viewto ... 16&t=10172 - From what I gathered, it's pulling information from out feed server on the Nagios home page. As well, it could be also be checking for updates.

Re: Question about a Nagios IP address
Version 2014R2.5. We have another IP allowed through the firewall as an exception for the regular update checks already. I assumed this was doing something else since it seemed odd to be checking for updates to 2 separate update servers. when we looked up the domain it appears to be registered by Linode and in New Jersey. Since you guys are located in Minnesota it raised our curiosity.

Linode is legitimate. Is there anything else we can do to help you out?

Re: Question about a Nagios IP address
Well maybe. I just upgraded our prod server to 5.2.2 last night and now I'm getting an "update check failed" error when trying to check for updates. I've never had this issue in prod before, even ran the update check without issue before the upgrade, and I haven't changed anything on what IPs are allowed through our firewall. I just tried adding this IP into the firewall and that didn't help. I also don't see anything in our firewall logs saying that something is blocked somewhere so I don't believe the issue is firewall related in this case. Is there anything else I can look at on the Nagios server as to why the update check is failing?

What is it showing there for you?

That's really interesting. I forget, is there a proxy in your environment?
Can you try to check for upgrades to your components?

Yeah, there's a proxy but it's already in the /etc/yum.conf file. Checking for updates on components also gives an error.
