Ignore network switch port status

Post by RoyHochstenbach »

I've added a couple of network switches to monitor them in Nagios XI, but I've noticed that it throws a Service Warning for network ports that are administratively down. Is there a way to have Nagios ignore network ports that are administratively down? I don't prefer disabling notifications for services, as some features (like warning when a port is reaching its maximum capacity) are still useful.

Navigate to Configure -> Core Config Manager -> Services -> Click the service for the port in question.

Once you are there, uncheck the box next to 'Active'.

Is that what you're looking for?
