Graph with CPU, memory, and disk usage of Nagios server

Post by rooogie »

Hi all

I am a student and we need to install Nagios on a CentOS 7 server. At the end we should observe CPU, memory, and disk usage of the server, where the Nagios is installed on. Firstly i tried with Nagios Core, but i didn't get the CPU usage. So i decided to install the Nagios XI.
Now i can see for example the actual CPU usage but is it also possible to get the usage of CPU, memory, and disk for the last 8 hours?
I have only one CentOS 7 server (localhost) and need to observe himself (so the Nagios is only to get the graph for the last 8 hours). Is this possible :? I also searched a Dashlet, but didn't found anything :(

Thanks in advance for help!

Best regards

Yes - there should be performance graphs for the service.

From your Nagios XI home screen click 'Service Detail' -> Click the service for CPU -> Click the tab next to the 'Home' icon.

Here's an example -

Is that what you're looking for?

Thanks for reply, that is exactly what i need, but i cannot select the services, the list is empty there:

How can i add services? I thought they should be added automatically?

EDIT:

If i look in Host Details, i even don't see my localhost:

Navigate to the Config tab, and then click on 'Configuration Wizards'.

From there, complete one of the wizards to add a host / service that you'd like to monitor. There is a handful of windows wizards, and a few linux wizards available as well.

Are you able to see services on the service status page now?

I've tried several wizards, now i see the localhost in the configuration:

But when i go to home -> Service or Host Detail, the list is still empty. How can i add the host there?

When i click on Hostgroup Grid i see the localhost:

Can you post a screenshot of your full service detail page?

It's like my first attached picture:

Or what do you mean with "full service detail page"? Home -> Service Detail?

Thank you

I'm a bit confused as the one screen shot is in reference to Nagios Core, and the next one is in reference to XI.

Are these both the same system?
Can you post a screenshot of the 'Views' tab up top for us to look at?

Something isn't saving properly and I'm trying to figure out why.
