To help assist you, can you please answer a few questions -
1. What XI version are you currently running? How was it installed? What OS?
2. Do you have any proxies in place?
3. Will the new server be assigned the same IP as the previous server? Do you run many checks that use an agent?

You will be able to use our backup and restore process to move from one server to another.
We have a document that explains the backup and restore process:
http://assets.nagios.com/downloads/nagi ... ios-XI.pdf
Deploy your new server as XI 2014R2.6 and then restore to it.
After the restore and everything is working OK then you can perform the upgrade to the latest version.

After you do your restore you will need to active your license as it is tied to your IP address. When you decomission your old XI server email [email protected] with that old IP address and it will be removed as an activated license.
As of May 25th, 2018, all communications with Nagios Enterprises and its employees are covered under our new Privacy Policy.
