Notifications and alerts (contacts & states)

Hey Everyone,

So i'm trying to setup multiple notifications for all of my hosts and services and i can't seem to get them working correctly.

We have a help desk software which we send Nagios emails to to auto generate tickets. This worked fine until we realized they were generating them for Recoveries as well, which we don't want. So this is my process i'd like to see.


2 contacts have been created:
ava_it_notices - Sends recovery alerts to [email protected]
ava_icare - sends Unknown, Critical and Warnings to [email protected]

I've created a contactgroup called ava_notifications, which just has both contacts in it.

I've modified the Host Template "ISP_Status" to include the contactgroup under alerts.

Tested settings with a dummy host. If i take the host down. no alerts are sent out... But if i "recover" the host. the recovery notice works correctly.

Attached are all the configurations for the options above. any assistance would be great

I have to ask the obvious question: Did you apply configuration after making these changes?

Is that email receiving any alerts from Nagios at all? Do you have it assigned to any other hosts/services?
